SAIC Motor achieves four consecutive monthly year-on-year sales increases
SAIC Motor announced on May 5 that its wholesale vehicle sales had reached 377,000 units in April, a 4.6-percent year-on-year increase.
This achievement marked four consecutive months of year-on-year growth in monthly sales since the beginning of the year, showcasing a strong recovery in production and sales momentum.
Of particular note was the remarkable performance in new energy vehicle (NEV) sales, which soared to 128,000 units in April, a significant 71.7-percent increase compared to the previous year and a record for 2025.
From January to April, SAIC Motor's cumulative wholesale vehicle sales totaled 1.321 million units, up 10.7-percent year-on-year.
The NEV segment witnessed robust expansion, with SAIC Motor selling 401,000 NEVs in the first four months of the year, a substantial 40.9-percent increase year-on-year.
In terms of international market presence, SAIC Motor made steady progress, achieving cumulative sales of 306,000 units from January to April and solidifying its position as a key player in the industry.
SAIC Motor unveiled plans to introduce 17 new overseas models encompassing SUVs, sedans, MPVs, and pickups to enhance its global market footprint.
SAIC Motor's self-owned brands continued their upward trajectory, with vehicle sales reaching 851,000 units from January to April, reflecting a notable 24.4-percent year-on-year increase. This segment accounted for 64.4 percent of the group's total sales, marking a 7.1-percentage-point increase from the same period in the previous year.
